Kambo is a traditional Amazonian ritual that involves the use of the secretion from the skin of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog, also known as the giant monkey frog. The secretion is applied to small burns made on the skin, where it is absorbed into the body.
Kambo is applied to small burns (also called “gates”) on the arms or legs that allows the Kambo to reach the bloodstream. The gates are ususally the size of a lentil.
Within a few minutes, you might start to feel the effects. This can include a rapid onset of symptoms like a racing heart, sweating, and a sensation of heat or tingling. Common physical reactions include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and a general feeling of being unwell. Some people also experience extreme fatigue or dizziness.
After the effects wear off, we will apply Dragon’s Blood (sap of the Daemonorops draco tree). This acts as a bandaid, and will give the effects of red dots.
